In honor of National Mario Day, Google has collaborated with Nintendo to let the childhood favorite character take over Maps and guide you on all your road trips.
The new inclusion was inspired by Mario Day, which takes place on March 10th and Google Maps will be holding their own festivities all week long.
Celebrating Mario day a week
In a report Google said that they know a true Mario fan when we see one. They hum the Super Mario Bros. background music on repeat, daydream about collecting gold coins and 1-UP mushrooms, and want nothing more than to traverse the Mushroom Kingdom with Luigi, Toad, and Yoshi to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. To celebrate the favorite moustachioed plumber-turned-racer on his special day—MAR10 Day—they have collaborated with the team Nintendo to let Mario accompany driving adventures on Google Maps this week
This feature is rolling out to Google Maps globally, starting today. Mario will only be available inside Maps for the next week.
Google is encouraging their users to take a screenshot of Mario inside Maps and share it on social media with the hashtag #MarioMaps. Dabas recommended users should avoid sharing personal details like your home or work address
This is not the first video game character tie-up for Google Maps.
