The Five Top Franchise Trends to Be Expected In 2021

Follow Us:

There have been various speculations and predictions, about which types of franchises will rule in 2021.  People these days prefer buying franchises instead of owning a company. This is indeed a better option and with the coming year, these top five trends are to be expected.

Contactless service:

Providing service with a single technician, working alone outside, much more than six feet from the customers is the need of the hour. Some of the restaurants and cafes have opted for a new concept wherein food and drinks are placed in little lockers for customers to grab and go. Whereas, some restaurants plan to use robotics, infrared sanitation, and other technology in order to make the restaurants super-efficient. The above-mentioned trends have not been actually built in any establishments but the no-touch; low labor idea is right on-trend.

Essential services:

The essential services are amongst the phrases that have been used since the COVID-19 pandemic came to life. Right from social distancing to smizing (smiling with the eyes) to contact tracing, all the people have adapted to the new normal. Nearly every type of business can be named an essential service. And, the list varied widely from state to state and city to city. Those that won the coveted designation are ranked high on every investor’s list, both by franchisees, private equity firms, and franchise companies.  The home services, pet food retailers, batteries stores, and restoration services are just some of the most essential services.

Niche staffing:

Seniors Helping Seniors is known to employ people who are over the age of 50 years. The organization hires these people to be in-home caregivers. This was indeed a boon to the people in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Franchises with staffing models like that will be attractive.

Drive-thrus:

Drive-thrus is the next to-be-expected in the coming year in the franchise industry.  They are much easier to gain what the consumer wishes to attain. It also helps in maintain minimal contact with the service staff. Thus, many of the leading franchisors have stated, “It’s been a very good year for drive-thru” which is both an understatement and a top trend for 2021.

Outlets for unused cash: The COVID-19 pandemic has created plenty of financial problems for many people all over the world. It has destroyed people’s lives, businesses, and livelihoods thus pointing out to have some extra income. But the several franchisees have very happily successfully stated—their business is up as customers spend discretionary cash that was generally spent on travel, hotels, and dining out. Franchises that can attract these types of customers will flourish in 2021.
