SpaceX Crew-3 Mission
SpaceX crew-3 launch has been delayed by NASA due to some minor medical issue of one of the astronauts. The SpaceX launch was originally planned to be executed early in the morning on Halloween but was postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions forecast along the flight path. The expected launch date for SpaceX is scheduled for November 6 and will be aired live on NASA Television, the NASA app, and NASA’s website. SpaceX is the third operational NASA Commercial Crew flight of a Crew Dragon spacecraft.Â
The four astronauts of the NASA and SpaceX Crew-3 mission are former US Navy submarine warfare officer–Kayla Barron, test pilot–Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn–a veteran astronaut and emergency physician, and Matthias Maurer–a European Space Agency astronaut. The whole crew will remain in quarantine until the mission is ready to launch. During their six months aboard the ISS, the crew is expected to perform multiple spacewalks for space station maintenance.
Endurance
Along with this, they will also perform scientific research in orbit involving fiberoptics, growing plants without soil, and observing changes that take place in an astronaut’s eyes from exposure to space. The Crew Dragon is a brand new reusable spacecraft that has been named Endurance. The name honors the SpaceX and NASA team who endured through the pandemic and built the spacecraft along with providing training to the lastronauts.Â
