HP, a U.S. based software and IT giant has recently introduced new cloud services for retailers and hospitality operators. The services such as HP Engage Catalog and HP Engage Console are designed to deliver easy-to-use retail solutions to help reduce manual IT work, increase productivity and facilitate fast time-to-market. Managing and monitoring multi-operating system endpoints with unified endpoint management tools are becoming critical as the number of connected devices is increasing in every kind of enterprise. 70 percent of the enterprises are expected to adopt and use UEM tools for streamlining their devices by 2024 according to HP.

Providing Modern Solutions for Customers and Partners

“Technology empowers today’s retailers to manage their business better with versatile and connected computing devices,” said Aaron Weiss, HP’s VP and GM retail solutions. He further added, “At the same time, retailers want to manage their applications in secure and efficient ways. With HP Engage Console and HP Engage Catalog, HP is bridging this gap and providing modern solutions for customers and partners to manage their fleet of devices securely and remotely.” HP Engage Console provides seamless application distribution and management for retail point-of-sale devices and apps as it is designed for hospitality operators, retailers, independent software vendors, and resellers. Users are allowed to manage their fleet of devices secure and remotely by this service.

Advantages of the New Cloud Services

The cloud services launched by HP help to facilitate fast time-to-market get end users setup and running with an easy-to-use solution with industry-leading support to start managing devices quickly. It also helps to improve IT productivity by automating data-driven compliance checks and security alerts, reduce manual IT work, provision devices in bulk. These services help to increase productivity, troubleshoot, and solve device issues remotely.

Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) are also looking for easy discoverability of their applications and services as retailers are looking to procure business-ready solutions that are complete with software applications of their choice. HP Engage Catalog aims to solve the problem by making it easy to discover for retailers and easy to upload for ISV partners.
