Follow Us:

Prior to the Farm Bill of 2018, CBD was like a code that only insiders understood. But fast forward 2 years later and the airwaves and internet is abuzz with the term CBD. It seems like CBD and related products take the lead wherever there’s talk of organic wellness products.

Since some states legalized the use of these products; you can find them almost everywhere. From coffee shops that offer you CBD infused brews, to spas that advertise facials with this ‘wonder’ substance and brands like Cheef Botanicals that extol its goodness and benefits.  Pharmaceuticals and producers of beauty products are also not left out in this trend.

This leads us to wonder ‘is it just hype or is there any merit to this trend? Before we draw a conclusion it would be proper for us to understand what this product is all about.

This article therefore would explore briefly what this product is, its benefits and how to get the right products.

What is CBD?

CBD a short form for cannabidiol, is a chemical substance that is found in Cannabid sativa plant. This substance occurs naturally and is extracted for use in different products. These products include oils, gummies and edibles.

Unlike its close relative THC(delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) , products made with CBD are not psychoactive. By this it means that it cannot make the user ‘high’. The reason for this is that it has a minimal quantity of THC.

Note that cannabis is made up of two major substances; cannabidiol and THC. THC is the component that makes people high, while cannabidiol doesn’t.  Part of the stipulations of the farm bill is that CBD products are not permitted to have more than 0.3% of THC. That is why cannabidiol infused products would not make the user high.

Health Benefits of CBD

There are so many health benefits that have been attributed to this substance. That is why we love to refer to it as the ‘wonder’ product.

Many individuals have turned to tincture delta-8 for its amazing pain healing properties. They have realized that this is the best and most natural way to relieve mental health concerns as well as physical ailments.

Although there are no empirical evidences or research results that backup these claims, CBD is attributed with the following health benefits:-

Treatment of Anxiety

It helps to alleviate the feelings of anxiety by helping the body to calm down. This it achieves by settling the nervous system and bringing it out of a continued state of stress. So people who suffer anxiety of some forms of depression are encouraged to take it to help manage their symptoms.

Note that this would not deal with the cause of the issue but the symptoms so you might still need to see a specialist for proper diagnosis and care. Furthermore, you can check out this link for more information: https://www.verywellhealth.com/cbd-oil-for-anxiety-4176279.

How To Get The Right Brand

There is a high probability of getting products that do not perform as advertised. This is due to the popularity of this substance and the benefits associated with the use of its many products that are available.

But that shouldn’t stop one from looking out for this commodity so as to enjoy the benefits thereof. Therefore, we would share some tips on how to get the right brand and they are as follows:-

Look out For Third Party Authentication

The product you are looking to buy should be certified by a third party laboratory. This certification is usually displayed on the label of the product. And the essence is to let you know that there are no harmful additives in the product.

Dubious manufacturers would not submit their products to third party labs. Consequently, their products would not have that test result (authentication stamp) on their label.

Check For Batch Number

Brands that follow proper manufacturing protocols would have batch numbers on their products. The reason for this is so that any issue with any batch of the product can be traced and sorted out.

If you see any product that doesn’t have batch number, that should be a red flag to the carelessness or dubiousness of the manufacturer.

Look Out For Source Of The Ingredients

Check the ingredient listing of the product and find out where the ingredients were sourced from. States where cannabis is legal has higher likelihood of having purer strains of the plant. This is because they do not use pesticides or other chemicals to grow their plants.
