Xiaomi has recently revealed that it has sold over 10 million IoT devices.
The Chinese tech giant, also nick-named as “China’s Apple”, has unveiled numerous innovative products, since its inception 7 years ago. Due to its consistent development in the IoT segment, the company is also considered as one of the largest IoT platform for smart hardware.
On Christmas day, the company announced that it had achieved this milestone in the early December. The diversification strategy of Xiaomi was working as planned and resulted into to this achievement. Xiaomi’s IoT gadgets presently include products such as home security kit, smart body scale, Mi Home Thermometer, Mi Smart Speaker, Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner, and several others. Most of the IoT gadgets are manufactured under Xiaomi’s MIJIA crowdfunding platform like the Aqara smart home products.
IoT gadgets manufactured by the company are sold exclusively in China. However, they can be bought outside China via third-party e-retailers such as LightInTheBox, GearBest, Banggood, etc. Xiaomi doesn’t sell the products directly to the couther countries, but of late, the company has availed some of its gadgets in India. In India the market of Xiaomi has continued to soar and is currently close to surpassing Samsung as the largest local smartphone vendor, according to recent estimates. Xiaomi’s connected smart home products continue to gather momentum. Furthermore, the tech giant is striving to expand its Internet-enabled home products to more markets around the world.
