Over 16 million Britons are supposed to stay home during Christmas. Earlier the Prime Minister was reluctant to bring out the restrictions during the festive season.  He has canceled all the plans for the citizens to meet their families and have a social gathering. There have been strict implementations of new restrictions because of the outbreak. Warning the citizens of the new strain of coronavirus, the government has banned flights from the UK.

All flights to and from the UK on a temporary ban

The Netherlands has announced a ban on all UK passenger flights whereas, Belgium has issued a ban for 24 hours and also halted train links to Britain. France has also known to suspend all the travel links with the UK for 48 hours from midnight on Sunday. Also, the flights coming from Ireland have been banned for 48 hours. Moreover, Italy has blocked all the flights arriving from the UK. Other countries that have imposed similar restrictions are Germany, Kuwait, Israel, and Austria.

British Health Secretary Matt Hancock has stated the preventive measures should be strictly followed until there is a vaccine. He has officially started, “All of the different measures we have in place, we need more of them to control the spread of the new variant than we did to control the spread of the old variant.”

UK founded JMG

The UK Government formed the JMG to review the global and Indian situation after the outbreak of the virus. The JMG would also provide recommendations on technical matters to the health ministry.
