Buying new clothes may be about to get a lot easier, thanks to a new feature to be rolled out on Instagram.

Select users of the social media site have begun to notice the addition of a payment button to the app’s existing booking feature. The function has started in some part of the UK and US, after that it will be run globally. Experts believe Instagram could become a major player in online retail – thanks to its focus on glossy shots of products and glamorous lifestyles – if the payment facility proves a success.

Almost all the social media websites are entering into in-app payment option. The giant companies like whatsapp, Facebook and now Instagram is also entering into this field.

Writing in a blog post at the time, a spokesman said that people come to Instagram to follow their passions – from travel and fashion to food, entertainment and everything in between. And those passions extend to brands, with 80 percent of Instagrammers following a business today. They are planning to continue evolving Instagram business profiles. For example, they will roll out the ability to book a service with a business directly from its profile later this year.
