Alibaba join hands with NTU to set up AI Research Center

Chinese giant company Alibaba join hands with NTU University, Singapore to open a new Artificial Intelligence research center.

It is the first research center that has been opened outside the mainland China. It aims to develop AI technology in Elderly care and urban technology. There will be 50 researchers working from both the organization.

In a joint statement both NTU and Alibaba said this partnership will lead to explore further technology and real-life AI solution.

NTU president Subra Suresh said that using AI technology ageing and transport technology can be detected and new solution can be figured out

A focus of the institute will be on technologies to help in caring for the elderly, including developing robot companions to stay with them at home and sensors to help detect problems.

There is a huge competition among the giant companies in the area of artificial intelligence, with Google, Microsoft and Amazon, who are developing new software and technologies for making the people life easier.

Subra Suresh, the University President, said the combination of strengths of Alibaba’s AI technologies with NTU’s Humanized AI technologies will create smarter, healthier and happier cities for people of all ages. He added that the NTU campus will develop best AI and cloud solution so that their partners will never get disappointment before taking them in the global market.
