Jaguar unveiled Type 01 in New York on October 6, 2026. Jaguar Type 01 is the first production Jaguar created on the dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), with production scheduled to begin at Solihull in 2027.
What Is the New Jaguar Type 01?
The Jaguar Type 01 EV is a four-door Jaguar luxury EV built on Jaguar’s dedicated JEA platform. Jaguar Type 01 uses an 850-volt electrical architecture and a 118 kWh usable battery.
The Jaguar Type 01 name combines Jaguar’s historic Type naming system. Jaguar says “Type” references legendary predecessors, “0” represents zero tailpipe emissions, and “1” identifies the first Jaguar of a new generation.
How Does Jaguar Type 01 Connect to Jaguar Type 00?
Jaguar Type 00 was unveiled as a design vision concept in December 2024. Jaguar Type 00 introduced design elements including a long bonnet, sweeping roofline, fastback profile, and 23-inch wheels. Jaguar described Type 00 as a concept intended to preview future Jaguar models.
The Jaguar Type 01 design carries elements of that design direction into a production four-door GT. Jaguar Type 01 has a low roofline, long bonnet, short front overhang, extended rear overhang, and 23-inch wheels. Jaguar identifies the E-Type and XJS among the models connected to the Type 01 design lineage.
Jaguar introduced its “Copy Nothing” creative philosophy with its new brand identity in November 2024. Jaguar also applied the philosophy to the Type 00 design vision concept.

The Jaguar Type 01 range is expected to reach up to 400 miles under EPA testing and up to 450 miles, or 720 km, under WLTP testing. Jaguar says 350 kW rapid DC charging can add up to 200 miles of range in as little as 13 minutes.
What Does the New Jaguar Type 01 Interior Include?
The Jaguar Type 01 interior uses a central spine that runs the length of the cabin and creates individual spaces for occupants. Jaguar Type 01 also has a low seating position, a slim dashboard, and an interior palette influenced by travertine stone and artisan textiles.
The Jaguar Type 01 interior technology includes a 24-inch single-glass OLED display positioned ahead of the driver and a seven-inch touchscreen between the driver and front passenger. Jaguar Type 01 also features a full-width Panoramic Soundbar, Sensory Audio, and the Jaguar Immersive Sound System.

The New Jaguar Type 01 design includes Active Vanes and a three-stage deployable rear spoiler for airflow management. Jaguar quotes a 0.23 drag coefficient for Type 01.
