Over the years, there has been a lot of emphasis on online learning. The current situation has also accelerated the need to move towards online learning. Earlier, many companies had to struggle to adapt online due to the changes needed in the content. Today, corporations who have already operated eLearning and training have a better chance of developing and experimenting with various methods and courses.
The current pandemic urges eLearning providers to have a higher adaptability rate. Many corporations are now adapting newer business plans—Learning and Developing professionals have shifted towards online and virtual approaches. Furthermore, the workforces are more inclined towards eLearning. Understanding the importance of the present scenario, the adaption of digital learning is the only solution that will help corporations to maintain a productive and healthy workforce.
Empowering Businesses and Learning Companies
eTrainCenter’s roots date back to 2000 when Learning Management Systems (LMS) were first emerging. It started as a small technology consulting company—implementing custom solutions for ERP and Helpdesk software companies. The Atlanta-based software company grew up with the LMS industry and has expanded its offering. During the initial days, it offered as an on-premise solution and in a very short span of time, the company adopted a SaaS model. Presently, eTrainCenter is hosted on a highly reliable, scalable, cloud platform.
eTrainCenter LMS platform gives small and medium-sized businesses a better way to create, centralize, and distribute their online learning, track performance, and grow their businesses. As a global LMS platform, eTrainCenter empowers businesses and learning companies with the tools necessary to quickly, easily, and affordably build and manage their company’s learning initiatives, track performance, and grow their business through a scalable, flexible high-performance learning platform.
Focusing On Developing New Features
COVID-19 has hit massively which lead to slowdown of the economics globally. It has impacted many of the customer’s projects and budgets while there is an increase in the need for expanding their online learning programs. eTrainCenter works closely with its customer and focuses on developing new features needed today and for the future. To provide more optimized solutions to its customers, it constantly contacts them to keep a pulse on what they want. At the end of each year, it asks them for a formal “wish-list” on any enhancement features that they would like to see. The suggestions could be as simple as additional reporting fields, filtering, or export methods. The company tries to do everything they can to make the administrators’ life a little easier.
Currently, eTrainCenter is working on its Gamification model and planning to achieve it using a Leaderboard model. Leaderboards improve learning outcomes by inspiring learners to do better, by getting a better score or improved time, and drive it to play on. Besides, Leaderboards tap into the competitive spirit and act as a powerful engagement tool and make it easy to celebrate the learning leaders in the organization. This helps foster a healthy sense of competition encouraging more and better quality learning from everyone. Its Leaderboards incentivize users to do better on courses and exams and take the learning on time.
Highly Equipped Working Environment
The team at eTrainCenter has been working remotely for many years. Adhering to the current norms, the company is highly equipped to work in these difficult times. It works with the mindset to achieve all the milestones, expectations, responsibility, effectiveness, communication, and flexibility. The teams use a video meeting and have daily development sprint calls. Coworker interaction is vital and so planning lunch, dinner or trips provides for better team building.
A Visionary Transforming the eLearning Industry
Niall Rochford, Founder of eTrainCenter spent two years designing on-premise and software solutions to help businesses move their training curriculums online. The requirement of the companies varied from uploading videos and creating exams, to selling curriculums to a broader audience that only could be reached online. He has a software construction and technical background so he decided to combine a few business applications, i.e. a registration system, eCommerce, authoring system, and online testing. After putting the components together in six months, he realized that he had a beta model of an LMS.
Presently, Niall’s role is to understand customer needs and drive product planning and market strategies for long-term growth. He also feels that the industry needs a platform that is highly economical and also provides high performance. His vision and perseverance formed the foundation of what eTrainCenter is today.
Emphasizes On Quality of Content
With years of industry knowledge and experience in the eLearning industry, Niall emphasizes spending time on the quality of content and having a means of measuring quality learning and retention. Any company that is looking to get established in the industry must first determine the audience and then it can modify the learning specifically to communicate to them. Also, it needs to decide on how it will broadcast the course to its audience either by distributing its learning to a broad learner base or by segmenting them.
In the case of market segmentation, the company needs to divide its audience up into groups that have similar needs. The four basic market segmentation strategies are based on behavioral demographic, psychographic, or geographical differences. Then, it needs measurement tools to assess quality and retention.
Niall suggests assigning exam questions to topics that relate to the content and use the eTrainCenter assessment topic (or competency) analysis reports to determine areas of strengths and weaknesses. This report can also show a comparative analysis to other users in that audience. Furthermore, he also suggests that the company should narrow its audience so the reporting is more relevant to a smaller more defined group.
