The importance of 21st century’s hospitality industry has largely increased as people have started looking for creating richer lives by moving away from the materialistic aspirations to soul searching and mindfulness. Describing his perception of the modern travel and hospitality industry, Tarun Gulati, Co-founder of DJUBO asserts, “I personally believe that the global population is probably going to be travelling less for business and more for leisure and collecting experiences. Travel will not be done as an essential work requirement because the internet will keep bringing teams and business partners closer. Travel will be more spiritual and inspirational and moving away from dense business cities towards smaller and lesser known destinations as access to remote areas opens up with better airline connectivity.”
Today, the hospitality industry has become a core enabler of leisure traveller in place of an enabler of business travel alone. Instead of being a three department industry which limits itself to front-desk, housekeeping and food & beverages, the modern travel and hospitality industry is slowly turning into a more expertise led industry, focussing on experience, personalization and innovation.

After getting 6 years of experience in private equity career, Tarun decided to call it quits and start afresh. In 2011,he took over the family property to turn it around and soon realized the dearth of hotel tech products meant for small hotels were limited to not just India but on an international level as well. There were scraps of software meant for hotelier’s troubleshooting, but a huge void for integrated solutions offering operations, distribution and intelligence in the same software. After candidly identifying the existing gap in the travel and hospitality industry, Tarun and Sankalp embarked on the mission of establishing DJUBO.
Currently, Tarun looks after the sales and marketing division at DJUBO, along with jointly looking after the product roadmap.
