Inspired by her father, Kizzy Dominguez, President of K. Parks Consulting, Inc. (KPC), always knew that she wanted to be a psychologist and an entrepreneur. The simple but powerful concept “it’s all about empowering others” was instilled in her from a young age and became the motivation behind KPC.

While Kizzy was finishing graduate school, she worked as a graduate research fellow for the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI), located at Patrick Air Force Base, FL. She thoroughly enjoyed her role there, and given her family’s past history of serving in uniform, was honored to make a contribution to the Department of Defense. Two weeks prior to graduation, Kizzy was approached by the Director of Research to remain on board as a contractor. After considering the offer, Kizzy moved forward, incorporating K. Parks Consulting, Inc. (KPC) in 2008.

Within a year, the company landed its first large contract and took KPC to the next level. Since then, Kizzy and her Difference Makers have trained, coached, and empowered leaders, middle managers, and front-line employees. Kizzy’s passion for igniting human potential and making a difference in the lives of her clients has made KPC a dominant force in the company development space.

However, the President of KPC encountered several pitfalls along the way. Sharing her initial experience, Kizzy affirms, “Our top struggle was moving from the start-up phase to the standardization of processes, procedures, pricing, etc. To achieve this, we applied for and successfully gained acceptance into the Orlando ATHENA PowerLink® Program associated with Rollins College. The organization assigned us a board of directors for free, which we meet with monthly. Their advice and guidance have enabled us to make significant progress as a company.”

Extensive Range of Solutions

  1. Training & Development: Seemingly small issues can become catastrophic to companies that do not realize that people are their most valuable asset. Additionally, unhappy employees cost businesses over $300 billion each year, whereas companies with happy employees have a 33% higher profitability rate. KPC’s diverse set of K Learning courses provides employee training and development that expands knowledge, drives effective behaviors, and increases productivity.
  2. Executive Coaching: Even the best leaders are not naturally skilled at everything. Kizzy’s team of certified coaches provides executive, career and team coaching to help individuals achieve their performance goals. Through KPC’s 5-step process, its coaches help leaders to navigate from where they are to where they want themselves and their organizations to be.
  3. Assessments: Data is the foundation upon which successful leaders take action to improve their workforces. By assessing strengths, weaknesses, and trends within the workplace, Kizzy and her team encourage their clients to make data-driven changes that create results. They do this by helping client organizations to 1) evaluate data in terms of set targets needed to measure key milestones, and 2) understand how their human capital survey results drive key bottom-line metrics. Based on assessment data, KPC provides custom recommendations that help its clients’ leaders make organizational improvements that get results.

Standing Tall in the Competitive Industry

According to the President of KPC, the company’s “why” factor is what sets it apart from its competitors. KPC exists to make its team’s and clients’ lives easier by fulfilling its brand promise: “Our respected, confident, and agile team is passionately driven to always deliver superior results through innovative, nimble, and responsive solutions to help you and your team thrive!”

Maintaining a Fine Balancing Act

Kizzy firmly believes that growth and contribution to the greater good provide balance. To this end, Kizzy has deemed 2018 the year of “trying something new.”  She recently graduated from an improv class at Just the Funny in Miami, and gave her first performance. Kizzy also enjoys serving as a mentor to young women and volunteer at her church.

Focusing on the Essentials

Sharing her views on tackling hurdles, Kizzy says, “I am a ‘glass half full’ type of person.  I never focus on obstacles or landmines. Instead, I concentrate on my faith and what I have control over. This approach has led to both my personal and professional success, as I would have never earned a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology without it.”
