Acquisition to increase the oil and gas production

Emerson has acquired Zedi’s software and automation business with the aim of increasing the digital transformation in oil and gas industry. Moreover, the Zedi’s cloud supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) platform further will be enabling by Emerson.  The main focus of acquisition is to increase the oil and gas production by assisting the respective producers and also helping them to cut the cost of operation through cloud-based monitoring, optimization of resources and controlling unnecessary cost. 

Zedi’s technology is the most popular when it comes to cloud platform and application. Currently there are over 2 million sensors enabling customers and more than thousands of devices and applications in the market. This expansion will open new doors of opportunities for Emerson all over the world in oil and gas production market. Combining Zedi’s huge market share in cloud platform and Emerson’s expertise in extensive application, instrumentation and flow metering portfolio, control, will help the Emerson in increasing the production. 

Common vision for both Zedi’s technology and Emerson 

Other than that, both the companies are on the same line of vision as the aim is automating the line of production for smooth and hassle free process with Zedi’s edge and cloud analytics and machine learning technology.

Currently, there are around 155 employees working in North America, for Zedi’s software and automation businesses which are based in Calgary, Canada. After the acquisition one of the statement said by Lal Karsanbhai, executive president of Emerson’s automation solution business, “As world energy demand continues to grow, helping our vital oil and gas market customers maximize their resources in a top priority”. “Through our vast portfolio of automation technologies, we are helping the industry navigate ever-changing market dynamics and operational challenges. The addition of Zedi strengthens our ability to help customers leverage the latest advances from the field to the refinery.”
