Alexa integrated with LG Hotel TVs to enhance hospitality to the guests

LG Business Solutions and Amazon are introducing Alexa for Hospitality to LG’s industry TVs installed in hotels. Both companies made this announcement at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), which billed as the world’s largest hospitality-technology trade show.

The project of integrating Alexa for Hospitality with latest LG Hotel TVs aims not only deliver a new set of exciting features, but focuses to bring a new level of simplicity, customization and convenience to hotel guests and hoteliers.

Liron Torres, head of Alexa for Hospitality, said, “This experience integrates with hoteliers’ existing amenities and services to offer guests new ways to access hotel services, learn about activities on the property and more. We’re thrilled to be working with LG to bring the simplicity and convenience of Alexa for Hospitality to hotel guests.”

Guests are now allowed to use the Echo device installed in their hotel room to experience a new set of Alexa voice features on LG Hotel TVs for the first time including:

  • Customized experience – Guests now have option to temporarily and securely connect their Amazon personal account to the Alexa-enabled device in their room that enables them to listen to their personal music playlists from services such as Amazon Music, Spotify and Pandora. Guests can ask Alexa to disconnect their account anytime where LG TV changes the status so the guests trust that their account is successfully disconnected.
  • Alexa responses your voice: Guests can ask Alexa to play a show of their favourite genre, or browse the menu list just through their voice.
  • Explore services in or around the hotel: With the LG skill for Amazon Alexa guests are allowed to simply ask for property information, like other hotel services, housekeeping, pool hours or the fitness centre location. Once request is placed to Alexa, she will open the LG skill to show relevant information on the LG TV’s screen. Also, the LG TV will display real-time notifications to inform guests about activities and encourage them to ask Alexa for more information about activities they may enjoy.

Not only this, LG further adding voice recognition assistance to the guest room with its recognized Pro:Centric smart TV platform making the company an industry-leading smart hotel TV solution. LG’s Pro:Centric-enabled hotel TVs continue to offer guests and AV managers the ability to supply more content options and greater connectivity than ever before.

Major hotel industries are planning to begin rolling out the Alexa for Hospitality integration with LG Hotel TVs later this year with full deployment expected in the first half of 2020.
