Valérie Madej: Guiding Entrepreneurs through the Maze of Digital Marketing

Many businesses today experience a frustrating paradox. They invest their heart, soul, and resources into creating excellent products or services, only to see their sales stagnate. Despite the abundance of advice, tactics, and platforms in the digital landscape, establishing a meaningful connection with customers that leads to conversions remains challenging. Why is this the case? Often, the answer is hidden in plain sight, overlooked amid the rush to sell.

Valérie Madej, founder of Valérie Madej Consulting, brings a unique combination of analytical rigor and creative flair to the complex world of marketing, backed by 35 years of experience. She doesn’t merely adjust campaigns; she rebuilds foundations to ensure businesses communicate directly with the right audience using the right message. For companies lost in a competitive sea, she offers not just a life raft, but also a compass.

A Lifelong Passion for Words: The Genesis of a Marketing Mentor

Valérie’s journey into the world of marketing and copywriting began early in her life. “I have been writing since I was very young, and writing has always been a passion for me,” she shares. Although her initial academic pursuits led her to study medicine, family reasons caused her to pause those studies. This unexpected turn of events led her to a position as a promotion assistant at an event management company. It was there that the CEO recognized her potential and took her under his wing, training her in the principles of direct marketing. “I immediately loved it,” Valérie recalls.

This early exposure ignited a passion that has fueled her decades-long career. She discovered a natural affinity for both the creative and analytical aspects of the field. “I am fortunate to be both analytical and creative. While copywriting fulfills my creative needs, marketing satisfies my analytical side,” she explains.

The Catalyst: Forging Purpose from Adversity

However, the path was not without its trials. The corporate world, with its relentless demands, took a heavy toll on Valérie’s well-being. “When I was an employee, I experienced burnout due to psychological harassment from my direct supervisor,” she states candidly. During this time, she also faced a battle with cancer, from which she has thankfully made a full recovery. This experience became a profound turning point for her. “That was the trigger that made me realize it was time to build a business that reflected my values and vision,” Valérie explains, “and to stop working for companies that prioritize productivity and profitability over the well-being of their employees.”

Thus, Valérie Madej Consulting was founded with a clear mission: to provide personalized support to entrepreneurs facing commercial slowdown, whose offers, despite their quality, fail to gain traction. “I work with entrepreneurs who have an offer but see their sales stagnating or declining,” she clarifies.

Additionally, Valérie is launching a 3-day live and online bootcamp designed to equip entrepreneurs with the methods she has developed over her 35 years of experience to boost their sales.

Diagnosing the Core Issue: The Pitfalls of Positioning

So, where do so many businesses go wrong? Valérie points directly to a fundamental flaw. “Most often, if not always, it’s a matter of positioning,” she asserts. The critical work of understanding the customer is frequently mishandled. “What I notice is that the work on the buyer persona is done very superficially, after the creation of the product and offer, whereas it should be done first.”

Furthermore, this crucial research is rarely updated regularly, despite the increasingly competitive and rapidly evolving nature of markets. “As a result, if you have created a product and offer without doing this research or without updating it regularly, your positioning becomes obsolete, and you end up being just another coach or business offering the same thing as everyone else,” Valérie explains.

The Strategic Alignment Filter (SAF): Targeting with Precision

To address this critical aspect of positioning, Valérie developed the Strategic Alignment Filter (SAF). This proprietary method allows entrepreneurs to define their ideal target audience with remarkable precision.

“The Strategic Alignment Filter allows you to define, with almost surgical precision, who you should be targeting—not by starting from your product or offer, but from your expertise and the transformation or experience you bring to your clients,” she elaborates.

In essence, SAF encourages businesses to focus on the value they provide and the specific needs they meet for their customers, rather than simply pushing their product. “And as you can see, I am doing exactly the opposite of what all the marketers I know recommend,” Valérie points out, highlighting the unique and effective nature of her approach.

Marketing Triangulation (MTT): Crafting Unique Marketing Angles

Building on the insights gained through SAF, Valérie developed another proprietary method called Marketing Triangulation (MTT).

MTT involves conducting a thorough market analysis that carefully assesses the strengths and weaknesses of key competitors while identifying crucial factors for differentiation. This approach enables the development of a refined marketing strategy, even if it requires a significant departure from competitors’ offerings. The goal is to create unique marketing angles that align perfectly with the genuine expectations of consumers.

Actionable Transformation: The IMPACT MAXIMUM Bootcamp

Valérie’s “MAXIMUM IMPACT” Bootcamp promises a significant transformation for participating entrepreneurs. She outlines the core learning outcomes, emphasizing the practical and comprehensive nature of the program. By the end of the bootcamp, participants will have a:

  • A complete buyer persona study: A comprehensive document, approximately 90 pages, providing deep insights into the ideal customer’s psychology, desires, frustrations, pain points, and aspirations.
  • A detailed competitor analysis: A thorough examination of competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, identifying differentiation factors.
  • Tools to build an irresistible offer: Techniques to increase the perceived value of their offer and align messages with audience awareness.
  • AI prompts: Ready-to-use prompts to assist with marketing strategy and creative processes.
  • Hands-on practical exercises: Completed in small groups for collaboration, feedback, and rapid application.

This bootcamp promises a comprehensive, immersive experience, equipping entrepreneurs to craft high-value offers that dominate their market.

A Day in the Life: Strategy, Mentoring, and Continuous Learning

Valérie describes her typical day as a marketing mentor and copywriter as “busy and very diverse.” Her mornings usually start with creating content for her educational materials, newsletters, or LinkedIn posts, as well as developing new methods, tools, and training programs. After that, she reviews ongoing projects such as launch campaigns, email sequences, and sales pages, analyzing their performance and making adjustments as needed. “I love this quiet moment where I can focus on pure strategy to continuously improve the support I offer,” she shares.

In the afternoons, she primarily focuses on mentoring sessions, during which she helps entrepreneurs enhance their positioning, optimize their offers, and strengthen their online presence. She shares her proprietary methods, such as SAF and MTT. “I love seeing my clients progress, find marketing angles that perfectly match their audience, and above all, achieve concrete results,” Madej expresses.

Her day typically concludes with reading, learning, and thinking about innovative strategies, as she considers continuous learning essential to staying at the forefront of the industry.

“What I love most about my role is the combination of copywriting creativity and strategic marketing analysis. Seeing my clients transform their businesses, find their unique positioning, and succeed through the methods I have developed is what motivates me the most. And of course, the freedom to create and innovate every day according to my vision, without compromise.”

Overcoming Challenges and Celebrating Success

Valérie talks about the challenges she faced in her career, especially during the COVID-19 lockdown, which was difficult for many people. She had planned an in-person entrepreneurial retreat in Spain and started promoting it on the first day of the lockdown. When things changed, she quickly adapted. She realized that many in-person coaches were struggling as well. To help them, she sent 1,000 direct messages on LinkedIn, offering to help them move their training online. “It was a huge success and provided me with two years of work!” she recounts.

Among her notable achievements, Valérie highlights achieving a remarkable 240% revenue growth for a company under legal recovery, ultimately saving approximately ten jobs. Additionally, she shares the success of one of her clients who achieved impressive results of +83% and +124% on their first two launches after applying her methods.

Balancing Work and Life: A Constant Negotiation

When asked about work-life balance, Valérie offers a refreshingly honest perspective. “To be completely honest, I am not sure I truly maintain a perfect balance between my professional and personal life… It often depends on my clients’ needs! If they are in the middle of a launch, I tend to prioritize my professional life.” However, she actively strives for balance, utilizing deep work blocks to manage her time effectively and boost her productivity.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Valérie’s passions revolve around animals. She is “multi-potential” and also works as an energy therapist and animal communicator. Deeply committed to animal welfare, she founded an animal protection association in Spain, LE MONDE DE HANOA, to which she donates 15% of her income. Her household is a testament to her love for animals, as she currently cares for 13 cats and 2 dogs, many of whom require significant socialization and emotional rebuilding. She also enjoys reading, walking in nature, meeting new people, and spending time with friends.

Future Aspirations: A Book, a Bootcamp, and Continued Advocacy

Looking ahead, Valérie is excited about several upcoming projects. She is currently writing a book set for release this summer and is eagerly anticipating the launch of her IMPACT MAXIMUM Bootcamp. Additionally, she is deeply committed to the growth and development of her animal protection association, LE MONDE DE HANOA, which aims to protect even more animals from cruelty. “This cause is particularly close to my heart,” she emphasizes.

Navigating the Marketing Maze: Finding Your Aligned Path

For entrepreneurs feeling lost in the marketing maze, her advice is characteristically direct. “What a great question!” Valérie responds enthusiastically. “I would tell them that there is no one-size-fits-all strategy… Marketing is like a toolbox… The perfect marketing strategy is the one that feels perfectly aligned with you.”

Her final, emphatic point circles back to her core philosophy: “And above all: clearly define your ‘why’! Why are you doing what you are doing…?”

“Finally, work on your buyer persona before doing anything else! This must be your absolute priority,” Madej concludes.
