With a plan to automate its Mobility Services, Hyundai is planning to take the help of Robotics. The company is also planning to use robotics in personal mobility. Simultaneously, Hyundai, Toyota is also trying to explore and advance in the field of personal mobility. It is expected that company’s long term plan will presumably end in the near term, as functionality which is required, is around the corner.
The Mobility Services Hyundai is planning to include is the ‘wearable robots’ or ‘robotic exoskeleton device’, which are robotic effects that enhance or amplify the mobility of their wearer. There will be three major tasks included in these mobility services usage, i.e. people with medical problems which simply cannot move around without assistance of personal mobility, secondly to enhance abilities of the user to carry heavy loads, last but not the least, it is providing wearable bots to perform tasks that cannot be done by a single human being. At the end of the day, this ultimately helps in bringing robotics sector to fulfill its duties at full fledge.
The Personal Mobility is expected to serve the purpose of helping paraplegic users and people with disability such as not being able to walk. These will be the wearable robots or exoskeleton which will can provide users with capabilities to walk and move around freely. These exoskeletons will be easily deployable and transportable as they are light in nature (almost 40 lbs.). They are so light that even with user on wheel chair can take this anywhere and use it whenever required. Whereas, the standard speed user can walk using these is 2 km/hr. The current design of these exoskeletons includes battery chargeable with four hours chargeable cycles.
With the lower scale exoskeleton device with (10 lbs total weight) which is waist-wrapped, Hyundai has taken a step forward. Hyundai stated in a statement that these devices can be extremely useful for lifting heavy products. This latest venture of Hyundai has turn everyone’s eye-balls towards it.
