Godrej and Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. owned Godrej Process Equipment, has acquired two subsidiaries of SPX Corporation, the Yuba and Ecolaire brands.
Mr. Jamshyd Godrej, Chairman, and Managing Director, Godrej & Boyce, stated, “The acquisition of well-known brands and technology from SPX Corporation for our Process Equipment business showcases our commitment to deepen the products that we offer to the power generation sector. Through this acquisition, we plan to establish Godrej & Boyce as a prominent player providing top-notch services and cutting-edge technological products in the power generation sector.”
Yuba under SPX Heat transfer delivers advanced engineering design, highest quality fabrication, and turnkey field services for efficient, reliable, and cost-effective electric utility, cogeneration, geothermal and solar power generation. They manufacture the heat transfer equipment and technologies, according to consumer’s power plant specifications.
On the other hand, the global supplier of steam condensers, Ecolaire, has produced over 3,600 condensers to date. The SPX Heat Transfer business has been producing Ecolaire condensers for power production since 1920. The condensers in operation have areas up to 1,400,000 square feet and serve plants up to 1300 MW, including fossil-fueled installations with pressures up to 3,500 psi and nuclear installations on virtually every type of reactor system built.
Expansion in services offered by Godrej Process Equipment
With the use of SPX Heat Transfer’s value-added and precision quality services and Ecolaire’s condenser technology, Godrej now has the capability to give end-to-end solutions in the Heat Exchanger Auxiliaries space.
Before the acquisition, Godrej had a permit to fabricate Yuba plan Feedwater Heaters and the Heaters have been provided to Godrej’s clients including NPCIL, Tata Power, GSECL, NTPC, and Toshiba.
Now, Godrej is the owner of these brands and positioned itself as a noteworthy global player in the Power sector, which will provide equipment to thermal, geothermal, solar and nuclear power plants.
