Amazon.com Inc. is gearing up to shake the whole new traditional form of butlering. It has now joined hands with Marriott International Inc., in order to showcase Alexa’s featured voice-controlled device Echo.
An effort to work its way up in the hospitality industry
Alexa is ready to favor, hospitality services that range from ordering room service to requesting housekeeping or calling the concierge for brunch suggestions without lifting up the phone.
“Customers tell us they love how easy it is to get information, enjoy entertainment and control connected devices by simply asking Alexa, and we want to offer those experiences everywhere customers want them,” said Daniel Rausch, VP, Amazon.
The Partnership is said to be starting from this summer itself. It will be held at the Marriott’s select properties and the service will be available after inviting other chain hotels.
In the recent headlines, it was reported that Marriott International had tested both Apple Inc’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa, but chose the latter one which was showing better compatibility. Although, Marriot did not give any direct opinion on the Apple’s Siri, they cleared the air by making a statement saying, “Great relationships with a number of technology companies and is always open to exploring opportunities to innovate and better the guest experience.”
Amazon is great at what they are doing; Till today the company has sold millions of Amazon devices for which the Echo dot device was one of the bestselling products.
With this partnership, Amazon is not stepping back but is rather gaming up to engage more users for its Echo devices.
